Jennifer brings over a decade of experience in the social work field having honed her clinical experiences into a specialized niche for impactful work with clients. Jennifer began her career in the city of Philadelphia working on an inpatient level with severe mental illness. She built upon that foundation of combining case management and clinical work to go on to work in non-profit with children and adolescents acting in both program management and a clinical provider. Upon returning to Maryland, Jennifer moved back into inpatient this time working with adult populations receiving treatment for substance abuse. In her role at the treatment center, Jennifer moved from counseling to clinical lead, as well as again stepping into program management.
In 2016 Jennifer made the leap to private practice, becoming a founding member of Argo Counseling & Wellness in Annapolis. Building a collaborative and creative practice with other colleagues who had come from multidisciplinary backgrounds was a successful endeavor in forming a well-established resource in the community. In this setting, Jennifer was free to creatively develop her unique approach to working with clients on integrating their life experiences in order to achieve healing. From her past of teaching and group therapy in the halls of treatment centers, she has moved into doing so in the community; partnering with AACo Public Library, local schools, and other community centers to offer education and experience in managing common issues like stress and anxiety by learning practices to understand the body and use the present moment. During the pandemic and amidst the transition to becoming a mother to two daughters, Jennifer has continued her work in individual practice as a solo provider, continuing both virtual and in-person work with clients, families, and groups.
Jennifer has developed a unique and effective skill set due to her well-rounded career. Having experience blending program development with clinical work means that she can work from a perspective of seeing the whole picture and for individuals, seeing the person in context. Our mental health issues do not exist in a vacuum. Jennifer’s training in internal family systems (IFS), inner child work, transpersonal therapy, spiritual counseling, and lifestyle coaching means that you are working with a therapist who is helping you to investigate and rebuild from the ground up. Jennifer seeks to work with clients on a deeper level, understanding the root causes of present struggles by exploring underlying beliefs and, ultimately the relationship with self. When clients work with Jennifer, they are getting expertise from someone who can help them integrate their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, but they are also working on becoming the expert on themself. She has a passion for helping individuals heal from past traumas and achieve inner peace.
